Merry Edwards Winery
MerryEdwards began her career over 40 years ago at Mount Eden Vineyards in 1974 and
in 1977 became one of the founding winemaker at Matanzas Creek remaining their
until 1984. In 1997, after consulting at wineries in Oregon and
California she founded Merry Edwards Winery with her husband Ken Coopersmith
focusing on Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. They now manage five estate
vineyards and maintain collaborative relationships with several other dedicated
growers to supplement their estate production. Merry has been inducted
into the Culinary Institute of America's Vintners Hall of Fame and has also won
the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Wine, Spirits or Beer Professional in
the United States becoming just the fourth woman to win the honor.
